Connie Ann Chastain age 71 of Norman, passed away on
Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Norman.
She was born on October 6, 1945 in Fort
Worth, Texas. Connie was the oldest of three girls born to Preston Connaway
Hurt and Roberta “Bobbie” (Holmes) Hurt. She attended school in Norman and
graduated from Norman High School in 1963. On July 11, 1969, she married
David Alan Chastain and together they raised two children, Alan and
Meredith. Connie worked over 30 years for the University of Oklahoma as a
Computer Security Analyst. She was a faithful member of the First Christian
Church in Norman for many years. Connie’s interests included family,
cooking, crossword puzzles, collecting quarters, and watching football;
especially OU football. However, she could never watch the games as they
were being played, as it made her too nervous. So she would DVR every game
and only watch it if OU won. If they lost, she would delete the recording.
She devoted much of her time and energy to helping others and doting on her
grandchildren. Whether it be buying clothes for her three grandchildren and
her sister Patti's grandchildren or making enough lunch or dessert for her
husband David's coworkers at the Oklahoma Stockyards. She was always
thinking of others. Her most favorite thing to do was to buy school supplies
for any child who needed them.
She is survived by: Husband, David Chastain of the home, Daughter, Meredith McClean and husband Robert of Dacula, GA, Son, Alan Chastain and wife Sabrina of Albuquerque, NM, Two sisters, Amanda Bettison of Australia, Patti Mayes and husband Don of Norman.
