Doyle W. Cartwright, 79, loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014.  He was born in Houston, Texas on October 15, 1934, the son of J.K. and Juanita Cartwright.

Doyle grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and entered the United States Air Force after high school graduation.  He spent four years of active service and four years in the reserve and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1961.  He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce (formerly East Texas State University) with a degree in accounting and began a 30 year accounting career with the U.S. Government including the Governmental Accounting Office; Health, Education and Welfare; Department of Energy; and finished his career with Housing and Urban Development.

Doyle and Betty loved spending time together and upon retirement they purchased a lake house at Lake Texhoma and spent as much time as possible there.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Betty of the home; son, Wayne Cartwright of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Donna Koeppe and her husband Edwin of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Anne, Rachel and Sarah Koeppe; one great-granddaughter, Paisley Koeppe; one sister, Carol Meyer of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Wadley’s Care Center in Purcell, Oklahoma and to the staff of Autumn Bridge Hospice.

Arrangements for Doyle and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
