Funeral services for Dan Butts, age 74, of Noble, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 11, 2010 in The Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.

Dan was born January 13, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky the son of John and Josephine Butts.  He passed away early Wednesday morning, December 8, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma
Dan attended schools in Missouri, graduating from William Chrisman High School in Sugar Creek, Missouri in 1954.  He later enlisted into the United States Navy, being honorably discharged after answering various calls of duty. 
Dan was united in marriage to Miss JoAnn Baldwin on June 3, 1966 in Miami, Oklahoma.
He began a career as a welder with General Motors that spanned more than 30 years before his retirement in 1994. 
During retirement, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jack Butts,

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn, of the home; three sons; Terry Butts and his wife, Teri of Noble, OK; James Daniel Butts of California; and Christopher Butts and his wife, Dana of Chickasha, OK; five daughters; Angela Jo Hoyt of Nobel, OK; Cheryl Hendrickson of Montana; Carol Eckert of Noble; Cathy Jo Smith of Weatherford, TX; and Susan Joan Wood and her husband, Neal of Noble; one sister, Lorraine Vaughn and her husband, Bill of Missouri; 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Burial will conclude in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Norman under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
