Bernice E. Buckminster, 93, of Norman, passed away October 12, 2016.  She was born March 5, 1923 in Lahoma, Oklahoma to John and Lena (Vathauer) Vette.  

Bernice dedicated her life to taking care of her family and providing them with a warm and loving home.  She was an amazing seamstress, artist, and an exceptional cook; especially when it came to her homemade chicken and noodles and fried chicken.  She was an avid OU Football Fan and loved the OKC Thunder.

Bernice was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by countless loved ones and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Mabel and Bernita, and brother Lawrence.  

She leaves cherished memories with her husband Glenn, daughter Glenda Wolfard and husband Neal of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren: Denise Daniels and husband Brian, and Todd Wolfard and wife Claudia; and four great grandchildren: Ashley Daniels, Cale Daniels, Ivan Wolfard, and Isaac Wolfard.  

Graveside services to celebrate her life will be 3:00 pm Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, OK.

Glenn Buckminster, 95, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Monday, 23 October 2017. He was born 16 August 1922 in Enid, Oklahoma to Fred Eugene Buckminster and his wife Sybil Buckminster (Hirst) of Lahoma, Oklahoma.

He grew up on the family farm in Lahoma as well as in Enid. He attended Oklahoma Military Academy. He entered the Navy in February 1942. His ship, the USS Amsterdam entered Tokyo Bay on 5 September 1945. Soon after, he returned to Norman, Oklahoma and was discharged on 4 December 1945. In August 1947, Glenn married Bernice Vette of Lahoma, Oklahoma and began a marriage that lasted 69 years. He enrolled in the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1951. While in school, he and Bernice had their only child, Glenda Bernice (Wolfard). Glenn worked in Civil Service at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 69 years.

Glenn is survived by his daughter Glenda Wolfard and son-in-law Neal, grandchildren Denise Daniels and Todd Wolfard, and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, 26 October 2017 at the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
