Buckley, Norman Lavon, 87, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma.  He was born August 27, 1923 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Eldon and Harietta (Gottfried) Buckley.  He was united in marriage on March 31, 1945 in Long Beach, Mississippi to Ruth Martin.

Norman served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Nose Turret Gunner on a B-24.  He received a distinguished Flying Cross Award and completed 50 missions.  He was a printer/pressman for the Transcript Press for 45 years retiring in 1991.

Norman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Buckley; one son, Michael Buckley and wife Vicki of Tallahassee, FL; one daughter, Dianne Crane and husband Jerry of Enon, OH; five grandchildren, Colin Buckley, Quinton Buckley, Brent Crane and wife Michelle, Jared Crane and wife Katie and Cheryl Huth and husband Brandon; five great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 27, 2010 in the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Ruth Elma Buckley, 88, of  Norman, went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2011.  Ruth was born on April 30, 1922, in Long Beach, Mississippi, the daughter of Elma Wright Martin.  On March 31, 1945, she was united in marriage to Norman L. Buckley while he was stationed at Keesler Field in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Mrs. Buckley was a devoted wife and mother.  She retired from Griffin Memorial Hospital after 25 years working in the office of the Director of  Nursing.  She was  charter member of the St. Stephens United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Buckley enjoyed square and round dancing, working crossword puzzles and reading. 

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Crane and her husband Jerry of  Enon, Ohio; son, Michael Buckley and his wife Vicki of Tallahassee, Florida.; five grandchildren, Brent Crane and wife Michelle, Cheryl Crane-Huth and husband Brandon, Colin Buckley, Quinton Buckley and Jared Crane and wife Katie; five great-grandchildren, Grant and Delainey Crane and Jacob, Mitchell and Trevor Huth.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Norman Buckley.

Funeral Services for Ruth will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 1801 West Brooks Street, Norman.

Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. To 4:00 P.M., Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, Oklahoma.

Burial will conclude in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
