Funeral services for Mr. James Wade “Buck” Buckley, age 82, of Norman will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the Crossroads Chapel, 8901 South Shields Boulevard in Oklahoma City with Pastor Terry Barriss officiating.

Buck was born August 31, 1928 in Oxly, Missouri the son of Claude E. and Cecil Mae (Earnhart) Buckley.  He passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman.

Buck attended public schools in Atoka, Oklahoma, graduating from Atoka High School in 1946.  He then joined Phillips Petroleum as a welder, remaining with them until 1971.

After leaving Phillips Petroleum, Buck purchased his own business, Eckler Machine Shop in Borger, Texas, operating the business until 1973.  Buck then worked in various positions within the oil field industry before becoming employed with Inland Machine in 1979.  He remained with Inland for the next 18 years, retiring in 1997.

On his 51st birthday, Buck was united in marriage to Mary Sanders in Norman, OK.

During his retirement, Buck enjoyed driving automobiles for The Mile of Cars in Norman, gardening and being outdoors.  When Buck wasn't driving cars or working in his garden, he enjoyed watching old western movies, especially Bonanza and Gunsmoke. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Buckley of the home; his daughter, Linda Brawner and her husband, Ernest of Canadian, Texas; his son, James Wade Buckley, Jr. and his wife, Tessa of Granbury, Texas; his daughter, Tina Chumbley and her husband, Lee of Marlow, Oklahoma; his daughter, Patricia Reynolds of Moore, Oklahoma; his daughter, Jo Beverly Usry of Moore, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and four sisters; Leatrice Clark of Norman, Oklahoma, Margaret McClendon of Farris, Oklahoma, Jessie Doerr and her husband, James of Wichita, Kansas; and Alice Hooker of Lexington, Oklahoma.

Burial will conclude in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
