Janeil Bourland,
83, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma after a brief
illness. She was born August 26, 1928 in Norman to Clyde and Fern (Pence)
Dickinson.
Janeil was the Assistant General Manager of the University of Oklahoma Book
Exchange from 1958 retiring in 1989. After retirement Janeil spent a great deal
of time volunteering with the Norman Police Department, Meals on Wheels, the JD
McCarty Center and many other non-profit organizations.
Janeil enjoyed traveling, logging miles from Maine to Alaska and from Canada to
Puerto Rico.
Janeil is survived by her daughter, Paula Jo Allen of Norman; grandson, Yancy
Lee Allen of Oklahoma City; great grandson, Bryson Gaston-Allen; two nephews,
Rob Copeland of Orlando, FL and Scott Dickinson of Seattle, WA; three nieces,
Rebecca Seixas of Los Angeles, CA, Leigh Natale of Las Vegas, NV and Lynn
Whitten of Kansas City, KS; and several great nephews, nieces and numerous
friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Bill Bourland;
sister, Laura Francis Copeland; and brothers, Jim Paul Dickinson and Bill
Dickinson.
She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
The family will host a Celebration of Life luncheon at 12:00 p.m., Friday,
November 4, 2011 in the Havenbrook Family Center, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman,
OK with graveside services following at 2:00 p.m. at
IOOF Cemetery, Norman, OK.
