F. L. “Okie”
Bonsall, 80, of Norman, passed away June 23, 2013. Okie was born January 27,
1933 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Caleb and Myrtle Ruth (McVeigh) Bonsall.
Okie proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at Tinker Air Force Base
for 35 years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
infant son Michael Bonsall; three sisters and seven brothers.
Okie is survived by his wife of 34 years Charlotte Bonsall; sons Steve Bonsall
and wife Cheryl of Oklahoma City, Brad Bonsall and wife Krystal of Oklahoma
City, Rick Edington and wife Gail of Norman, and Gary Edington of Norman;
daughters Debbie Wood and husband Butch of Tuttle, and Anita Griffin and husband
Morris, Jr. of Cypress, Texas; brothers Cassie Bonsall, Larry Bonsall and wife
Chrissy all of Westchester, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren as well as many great
grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of family and friends and two new
additions on the way.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 8am-8pm with family greeting
friends from 5-7pm.
Services to celebrate his life will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Havenbrook Chapel with interment to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman. Arrangements for Okie and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
