Blish, Vynola
Swinney, 88, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was
born March 17, 1922 in Paden, OK to Rufus and Maud (Morgan) Ray.
Vy graduated from Paden High School, Paden, OK and after graduating she attended
Draughn's School of Business in OKC before moving to Washington, DC to work at
the Pentagon. Vy moved back to Norman to work at the Naval Base where she met
her first husband, L.A. Swinney. She also lived in Hawaii, Key West Florida,
San Francisco, Oakland and Ruidoso, New Mexico to name a few. One of Vy's
favorite pastimes was dancing. Vy loved and lived life to it's fullest. She
will be remembered for her laughter and her outgoing personality.
Vy is survived by one son, Tony Swinney of Goldsby; two brothers, Glen Ray and
wife Jean of Norman and Wayne Ray and wife Karen of Paden, OK; two sisters, Ess
Sharpe and Bess Newmaster both of Bartlesville, OK; four grandchildren, T.J.
Swinney, Boots Swinney, Stephen Swinney and Deighton Barber; and one great
grandchild, Ethan Swinney.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first
husband, L.A. Swinney; her second husband, Howard Blish; daughter, Lynn Swinney;
six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in the
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in
I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
