Blalock, Raymond, 85, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Checotah, Oklahoma.  He was born January 8, 1926 in Henryetta, OK to Bryson and Ester (Whitworth) Blalock.  He was united in marriage on November 15, 1991 in Shawnee, OK to Mary Sue Cassady.

Raymond served his country in the United States Army and was a truck driver for 50 years before retiring in 1987.  He was a member of the Bedquin Shriners, 32nd Degree Masons of Checotah and Eufaula a lifetime member of the VFW of Del City; the Legion of Honor and the McAlester and Guthrie Consistery.  Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, traveling with his wife and the Bedquin RV group and coaching his kids baseball teams.  He was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for Thanksgiving and special occasions with his family and friends.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Sue Blalock; three sons, Mike Blalock and wife Sherri of Joplin, MO, Mark Blalock and wife Linda of OKC and Jerry Smith of Tecumseh, OK; three daughters, Tami Goulet and husband Mike of Wagoner, OK, Chlo Ann Miller and husband Carl of Austin, TX and Marcia Stroud and husband Al of Salt Lake City, Utah; four brothers, Bobby Blalock and wife Pat, George Blalock, Wayne Blalock and Bryson Blalock; one sister, Nita Sue Fulton; ten grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many special friends including Chester Lamar. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made in memory of Raymond Blalock to the Bedquin Shrine Temple, C/O Transportation Fund, P O Box 1667, Muskogee, OK 74402.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, OK

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
