James “Jim” Lee Ramsey age 76 of Lexington passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at his home in Noble, OK.
Jim was born November 2, 1941 in Purcell, OK. He was the 2nd child of six children born to Arthur Lee Ramsey and Martha Lillie (Bennett) Ramsey. Jim grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1961. One year later he married the love of his life, Ruby Virginia “Jenny” Deskin. They were married on April 27, 1962 in Lexington during Jenny’s senior year of high school. Jim and Jenny together raised one daughter, Angela. After marring, Jim first worked for Northcutt Nursery in Lexington. He later moved to Grandview, Texas where he worked nine years as a ranch manager for a large cattle ranch. In 1981 they moved back to the Lexington and Noble area and he started working for the City of Moore. Jim later retired from the City of Moore as their Parks Supervisor. Jim loved being in the outdoors. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time at the lake, boating and fishing and in the woods, hunting. In his later years while his grandson, Gus was growing up. He enjoyed spending time with him, deer hunting and fishing.
Jim was preceded in death by: Parents, Arthur and Martha Ramsey; Wife, Virginia “Jenny” Ramsey on Aug. 11, 2015; Two brothers, Darrell and Buddy Ramsey; Sister, Laura Moore; Two nephews, Gary Lynn Bonner and Jamie Logan;
He is survived by: Daughter, Angela Drabik and fiancé Ted Robinson of Round Rock, Texas; One grandson, Gus Drabik of Round Rock, Texas; Two sisters, Marketa Ille and husband Jerry of Lexington, Sherry Logan and husband Mike of Elk City; Three sisters-in-law, Donna Deskin of Lexington, Julie Deskin of Moore, Carolyn Deutsch and husband Melvin of Austin, TX. One aunt, Naomi Mitchell of Norman; Several cousins, nieces and nephews,Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will be at Noble I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
