Long, Cindy, 55,
passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Lexington, Oklahoma. She was born
January 7, 1957 in Norman, Oklahoma to J.W. And Nettie (Berry) Bettes. She was
united in marriage on January 7, 1977 in Noble, Oklahoma to Paul Eugene Long.
Cindy grew up and attended the Noble Public Schools and Central State
University. She was employed with the Noble Public Schools for 22 years. She
loved her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Her hobbies included
camping, stained glass, spending time outside. She loved her job and all of her
Katherine I. Daily family. After fighting this battle for 9 years she proved to
be an inspiration to everyone.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Paul Long of the home; her mother, Nettie
Tamez of Lexington; son, Blake Long of Norman; daughter, Leslie Embry of Noble;
two brothers, Willis Bettes and wife Kay of Noble and Terry Bettes and wife Nacy
of Lexington; one sister, Kathy Blanchard and husband Chester of Noble; two
grandchildren, Bryce Embry and Camden Baker.
She is preceded in death by her
father, J. W. Bettes and stepfather, Able Tamez.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, June 11, 2012 in the First
Baptist Church, 330 E. Chestnut, Noble with interment following in the Noble
I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements for Cindy and her family were placed in the
care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online
