Stella Jeraldine ''Jerry'' (Chapman) Hill was born October 6, 1927 to Garrett Hobart Chapman and Edith Nora (Kimmel) Chapman in Oklahoma City. She passed away May 8, 2008 at the Purcell Municipal Hospital at the age of 80 years.

Jerry has lived in Lexington since March 1994 coming from Carthage, Texas. She was raised and attended school in Oklahoma City. On June 22, 1943 Jerry and Cleatus Hill were united in marriage in Tribbey, Oklahoma. Jerry was a housewife and a member of the Noble Church Of The Nazarene. She was the last surviving charter member of the Trinity Church Of The Nazarene. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and swimming. Shw was an avid reader and served as pianist and organist in many churches.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marta Lee Burdick and great grandson, Landon Newlin.

Survivors include her husband Cleatus Hill of the home; son, Tony Hill and wife Karon of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Cleata Chamberlain and husband Dan of Cashion, Oklahoma; sister, Adeline Hutton of Lancaster, California; grandchildren, Jennifer Newlin and husband Curt, Beth Vanderlinden, Randi Hill, Stephen Chamberlain and wife Jody and Joshua Hill; great grandchildren, Lindsey Newlin, Jill Vanderlinden, Lacey Newlin, Haley Vanderlinden, Lane Newlin, Reagan Chamberlain, Rylee Chamberlain, Ryan Chamberlain and a host of other family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Jerry had many physical challenges from childhood but through it all she overcame each trial and the Lord blessed her with an abundantly happy life and family. Since her days in Carthage, Texas the name ''Grandma Texas'' stuck and no one ever had a more beloved mother or grandmother. Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Noble Church of the Nazarene under the direction of Wadley's Funeral Service.
