Emma Marie Dragoo, 91,
passed away at her home in Norman on Monday, March 7, 2016. Service: 10
a.m. Friday at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
Interment will be at Noble Cemetery.
Marie was born August 13, 1924, in Marysville, California to Bill and Maud Woodring Kennedy. She grew up in the Noble area and was a graduate of Noble High School. Marie was married to John Nelson Dragoo August 20, 1942 in Norman. While her husband John was flying bombing missions in Europe during WWII, Marie worked at Vega Aircraft in Burbank, California for the Defense Department. Marie lived most of her adult life in Norman. She was a faithful member of Westside Church of Christ. She worked for many years at Hancock Fabrics and as the Meal Site Manager at Cleveland County Area Wide Aging Center.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Dragoo, in 2003; parents, Bill and Maud Kennedy and brother Bill Kennedy.
She is survived by her
daughter, Jeanie Self, of Norman; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and
Rebecca Dragoo, of Allen, Texas; Granddaughter, Sarah Popham and husband
Gary of Katy, Texas; Granddaughters Katie Dragoo and Allison Dragoo of
Allen, Texas; grandsons, John Dragoo of Dallas, Texas and Charles Dragoo
of Los Angeles, California.
