Betty Hellen Carlson-Cox
Funeral services for Betty Hellen (Bugher) Cox-Carlson, 73, will be held today (Thursday), Aug. 11, 2005 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating. Interment will be at Noble IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Mrs. Cox-Carlson died Aug. 7, 2005 at the Moore Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1931 in Noble, the daughter of Theodore Franklin and Emma Videll (Brown) Bugher. She was reared in Noble, attending Canada Elementary, Noble High School and Lexington High School. She had lived in the Cleveland County area all of her life.
In 1948, she married Dale Cox, married Harold G. Carlson in 1957 and in 1990 she married Foy Cox.
Mrs. Cox-Carlson attended Wayne Vo-Tech to be a florist and Moore-Norman Technical Trade School to be a licensed practical nurse in 1982.
She worked for the Norman Police Department as a meter maid, was a secretary for John Roberts Ring Manufacturer, was a medicine dispenser at Griffin Memorial Hospital, was a security guard for Clark’s Department Store, a bartender at the Normandy Club and a LPN at Four Season’s Nursing Home.
Mrs. Cox-Carlson was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Dale Cox, Harold Carlson and Foy Cox; one sister, Doris Bugher and one brother, Roy Bugher.
Survivors include her children, Teri Haney and her husband, Buddy, of Lexington, Larry D. (Brown) Cox of Norman and Steven Cox and his wife, Glenda, and Glenda Carlson, all of Noble; three brothers, Ted Bugher and his wife, Jo, of Lexington, Lewis Bugher and his wife, Vondell, of Noble and Delaney Bugher and his wife, Bobbie, of Geary; one sister, Ima Jean Dupuis of Noble; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roy Bugher, Brent Bugher, Brian Haney, Buddy Haney, Steven R. Cox and Michael Larrimore II.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Haney, Donald Dupuis, Anthony Lamirand, Jeremy Bugher, Michael Bugher and Steven B. Cox.
