Delbert “Wayne”
Argo aka “Fearless”, 75 of Norman, Oklahoma passed away March 4, 2015. Wayne was
born July 11, 1939 in Norman to Tommy Oscar and Bonnie Samantha (Wright) Argo.
He attended Norman schools 1st-12th grade then enlisted in the United States
Marine Corp in 1958. He served 6 years of his life serving his country, 3 years
active and 3 years inactive. He then met his beautiful wife on a blind date at
the softball fields and dated 6 months and married the love of his life in 1963.
He became employed in 1965 as a Norman firefighter, working his way up the
ladder to retiring as a Captain. He loved being a firefighter and he also worked
19 ½ years for Dolese on his days off from the fire dept.
After retiring from Norman Fire Department so that his son Mark Argo could join
the department, he went to work for Bridgestone/Firestone for 7 ½ years. He
loved being busy providing for his family. He enjoyed family vacations and
tailgating for OU football games each and every year.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nona; son, Mark and wife Raelynn; son, Greg;
daughter, Holly and husband Scott; grandchildren, Cole and Alexa; and his
brother Roger Argo. All of whom he loved dearly.
Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at Havenbrook Funeral Home from
5:00PM-8:00PM. Services are 2:00PM, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at CrossPointe
Church, 2601 24 SE, Norman.
