William Young born January 8, 1819 died March 28, 1896.

Bro. Young lived 16 miles East of Norman at Little River. Some 4 years ago he lived near where Denver P.O. is now. The writer visited his home and had the pleasure of his hospitalities. He was buried on Sunday the 29, at the old south Fairview Cemetery; the writer preaching sermon.

The death of Bro. Young throws a cloud of gloom and sadness over the home that only time and God's grace remove; The more so because of the manner of his death. He was plowing a four horse team, two of which were young horses. In turningat the end of the field one of the traces came unhooked. He had his lines around his waist and has he stooped down to hitch the trace, the team became frightened and started to run and he was carried by the team at a fearful rate, being jerked from twenty-five to thirty feet every time he struck the ground until finally the lines broke and he was left in an unconscious condition for serveral hours before he was found by the family. He revocered sufficient consciousness before his death to give an intelligent account of how it occured, and died Saturday morning about 4 o'clock. Bro. Young was a good man and well known by many of the business men of Norman.

He leaves a wife and several children to mourn the loss. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement. J.H. Miller
