Patti Gayle Shobert age 60 of Slaughterville, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her home following a battle with cancer.
She was born on July 26, 1955 in Oklahoma City. She was the youngest of four children born to Bill Monroe Moss and Helen Marie (Donaho) Moss. Patti grew up in Wayne, OK and graduated from Wayne High School in 1973. She learned how to work hard when she was young by working at a Dairy Queen. Other jobs followed, including working for Roy Wilson’s Rug Factory in Wayne and being a waitress. Years later she worked for GTE, Whitie Herrell’s Insurance Agency and the First American Bank in the Mortgage Department. After getting her insurance licenses, Patti started working for Bill McElderry and National Insurance in Purcell as an insurance agent. In 1993 Patti and her friend Donna Blessum opened their own Insurance Agency in Purcell. For 13 years they were the proud owners of Insurance Professional II on main street in Purcell. On January 23, 1981, Patti married Randy Shobert of Noble. They made their home in Noble and attended Maguire Baptist Church. She loved living in the country, working in her yard and feeding her hummingbirds. Throughout her life, Patti enjoyed being outdoors, camping and swimming. She also enjoyed working on computers and was an avid O.U. and Oklahoma City Thunder Fan.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Helen and Bill Moss, Two brothers, John Thomas Moss and Mike Moss, One sister, Peggy Willingham, One infant son, Dustin Hollis;
She is survived by: Husband, Randy Shobert of Noble, One son, Rodney Lee Shobert of Stilwell, OK, Three sisters-in-law, Mary Moss of Purcell, Carol Pattillo and husband Pat of Noble, Reta Cottrell and husband Jackie, One brother-in-law, Larry Willingham of Edmond. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at
the Fairview-Maguire Cemetery in Noble, OK. Arrangements are made by
Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell, Oklahoma.
