Lee Ann Watkins age 61 of Edmond, formerly of the Lexington-Purcell area, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 in Edmond. She was born September 2, 1952 in Purcell. She was the 3rd child born to Richard Arlen Watkins and Patsy Ruth (Williams) Watkins. Lee Ann grew up in Purcell and attended the Pauls Valley State School through the 12th grade. While living in Purcell she was faithful to attend the Lexington First Baptist Church. Lee Ann loved going to church and she loved to sing. Lee Ann moved to Edmond in 1986, which started her journey to her independence. She first lived in a group home for many years, and then in 2003 she moved into her own home. For a short time she worked at the Bryant Theatre then at Taco Bell. For the last 20 years she has worked at the “Thrift Store” owned and operated by the EARC. After she moved to Edmond she attended Henderson Hill Baptist Church and loved singing in the Special Ministries Choir. Lee Ann loved people and everyone she met loved her. Throughout her life she had participated in “Special Olympics” and had won many gold medals. Some of her favorite things to do were listening to music, singing, going to church and going out to eat. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by: Father: Dick Watkins on Jan. 29, 1977, Sister-in-law: Donna (Warden) Watkins on July 4, 1989, Infant sister: Linda Watkins,

She is survived by: Mother: Patsy Watkins of Lexington, 1Brother: Larry Watkins and wife Natalea of Orlando, OK, 1Niece: Jennifer Smith of Guthrie, 1Nephew: Rick Watkins and wife Erica of Sapulpa, 3 Great nieces: Hope Watkins, Haileigh and Hunter Smith, Several aunts,uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Lexington. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Memorials may be made to the EARC, p.o. box 268, Edmond, OK. 73083.
