Marilyn Jane (Hamm) Stokes died December 7, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years 8 months 5 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Lexington Cemetery under the care of
Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Marilyn was born April 2, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Albert and
Gladys (Farrow) Hamm. She was raised in the Lexington area, graduating in 1972.
Marilyn worked many several jobs over the years at OU, Lexington Nursing Home
and then at the Purcell High School. She loved flower gardening, decorating and
traveling. On December 31, 2004 she married Charles "Bud" Stokes in Choctaw,
Oklahoma. Marilyn was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the First
Born on April 22, 1967 by brother Harold Holder. She was devoted to her faith
and her belief in God.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Gladys Hamm; grandparents
and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Stokes; step-children, Tammy Robertson and husband, Roger, Rhonda Nicholson and husband, Brent, Robert Stokes, Wesley Stokes and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Carson, Yvonne, Pandilin, Trevor, Felicia, Major, Jennifer, Brenden and their mother, Shonda Stokes, Dylan and his mother, Sasha Gilbert, Roger, Reanna; siblings, Katherine Rogers, Imogene Crumley and husband, Tim, Kenny Hamm, Johnny Hamm and wife, Angie, Margaret Andrens and husband Tim, Jerry Hamm and wife Annette; aunts and uncles, Fannie Holder, Lonnie and Pat Hamm, Harold Hamm; mother-in-law, Bonita Freeman; and numerous other relatives and friends.
