Kenneth Deolen Stockton died March 11, 2014 in Purcell, at the age of 78 years 7 days.Interment will follow at Lexington Cemetery under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Kenneth was born March 4, 1936 in Hartford, Arkansas to Elmer DeWitt
and Velma Ruby (Jones) Stockton. He was raised and attended school in
the McLoud/Dale area.
He earned his business degree form Draughn’s
Business College in 1957. Kenneth was inducted in the United States Air
Force serving 4 years before being honorably discharged. October 28,
1963, Kenneth married Wanda Nickels in Norman, Oklahoma.
They were
married for 49 years before Wanda’s passing in 2012. Kenneth worked for
the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Chief Financial Officer retiring
in 1991. He was a member of Sunray Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing,
woodworking, being with his family and his church family.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Velma Stockton; wife, Wanda Stockton; siblings, Blanche, Loretta, Shirley, Garland and Larry.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Cherry; Sherry Sager and husband, Les; sons, Dan Rider and wife, Terri, Randy Rider, Terry Rider and wife, Carmen; sister, Patsy Kinsey; grandchildren, Anthony Pyle, Jeramy Grotts, Thomas Crossno, Eric Rider, Megan Rider, Shanna Rider, Dilon Rider, Summer Rider, Sean Deathridge; great grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Saira, Eden, CJ, Nicholas, Allayna, Bailey, Gregory; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
