Justin Dean Smith age 37 of Ponca City, formerly of Lexington passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center. At the time of his death Justin was surrounded by his family and his friends.

Justin was born August 8, 1980, in Tribbey, Oklahoma. He attended school in Lexington and graduated with the class of 1998. Justin married Melynda K. Simpson and together they raised one daughter, Kalynn. He lived and worked most of his life in the Cleveland county area. For the past two years he has lived in Ponca City. Throughout his life, Justin loved working with his hands and being in the outdoors. Some of his fondest memories was living near his grandfather Jody Taylor’s home place. He loved fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and singing. He will be remembered as having a big heart, he was always friendly, and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by: Mother, Sherrie Taylor Nix, Grandfather, Harold Dean “Jody” Taylor, Grandmother, Joyce Ann Taylor, Grandparents, W.E. and Bertha Mae Smith;

He is survived by: Daughter, Kalynn Smith of Moore, His Companion and her two children, Candy Norman, Hayleigh and Curtis Artman. Father, Dean Smith of Norman, Two step-grandmothers, Norma Jean Taylor of Brady, Texas, Janet (Parks) Taylor of Broken Bow, Brother, Brandon Northrup of Norman, Aunts and uncles, Randy and Patty Taylor of Norman, Roma and Jim Daniel of Nashville, TN, Vickie Smith of Memphis, TN, Eddy and Carletta Smith of Memphis, Neal Smith of Memphis; Several cousins, Brad, Ashley and Steven Taylor; Also other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, OK. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell
