Michael Sherman Rushton was an only child, born to Foster Kelly and Mildred Rushton on November 11, 1946 in Washita County, Oklahoma. He graduated high school from the Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, Oklahoma. Forty-four years ago, he married the love of his life, Carlene Kay Beason, on May 25, 1973. He passed away in his home in Oklahoma City surrounded by his loving and caring family on March 7, 2018 after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71. After his 35-year career, he retired from Lucent Technologies in Oklahoma City in 2001. He loved his family and also going to NASCAR races and watching them on TV
His parents, and grandson, Michael Vann, preceded him.
He is survived by Carlene, his wife, of the home, and,Kimberly Kay Williams (daughter) and her husband Jim Williams of Edmond; Kelly Ray Rushton (son) and wife Tiffani Fieszel of Oklahoma City; Grandsons, Matthew Vann and Jacob Vann and Jordan Rushton, all of Oklahoma City; Great Granddaughters, Avalynn, Cordelia, and Leaa Vann of Oklahoma City and a host of other relatives and friends.
