He was the 3rd child of six children born to Arthur Lee Ramsey and Martha Lillie Bennett Ramsey. Darrell grew up in Lexington and attended the Lexington schools. Throughout his life, he loved being in the outdoors and working with his hands. One of his first jobs was working as an automotive mechanic and then as a carpenter. These later became lifelong hobbies for him. He always found great pleasure working on old cars, pickups and building something with wood. However most of his life, Darrell worked as an over the road Truck Driver. Working many years for various trucking companies, traveling all across America. Darrell also had a love for horses and enjoyed riding them. In his younger years he enjoyed going to rodeos.

He is survived by: Mother: Martha Ramsey of Lexington Son: Delaine Ramsey of Lexington Daughter: Michelle Beard and husband Michael of Calumet Brother: Jimmy Ramsey and wife Virginia of Norman Three sisters: Marketa Ille and husband Jerry of Lexington Sherry Logan and husband Mike of Elk City, OK Laura Moore of Lexington Aunt: Naomi Mitchell and husband Junior of Lexington Uncle: C.R. Ramsey and wife Pat of El Reno, OK Best friend: Bill Deskin of Noble, OK 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
