Shawn Perry, age 39 of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Shawn Franklin Perry was born June 8, 1977 in Alexandria, LA, the youngest of two children born to Wilfred and Lea Ann Perry. Growing up in a military family, Shawn experienced many things. He spent his early childhood in England before moving back to the States when in the 6th grade. The Perry’s settled in Lexington, OK and Shawn had found his home. While in school, Shawn excelled in wrestling, claiming a Tri State Championship his senior year. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of ‘96. Shawn married his longtime friend and the love of his life, Becky Barber. They made their home in Lexington where together they raised their children, son, Wyatt and daughter, Lilli. He worked as a driller in the oil fields for more than 16 years and most recently as Maintenance Supervisor at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility. Shawn was a proud father and a family man first. He was kind, quiet, and always considerate! He was a patient man with a huge heart! He enjoyed wood working and working in his yard, and his was good at whatever he decided to do! He was a wonderful husband and father, son, brother, uncle and a true friend! He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His grandmother, Lenora Perry, His grandfather, Jesse Perry and His father-in-law, William Edward “Bill” Barber”.

Shawn leaves behind: His wife, Becky, and children, Wyatt and Lilli, of the home; His parents, Wilfred and Lea Ann Perry of Lexington; Sister, Letha Starchman and husband David of Norman; Mother-in-law, Cathy Barber and husband Jerry Lightfoot of Perkins, OK; 2 brothers-in-law, Mike Barber and wife Kristin of Lexington and Jeff Barber and wife Rita of Wellston, OK; 5 nieces, Mercedes, Isabella, Lacey, Lindsey and Leslie and A host of other family and friends!

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Lexington Cemetery.
