Otis Orin Owens was born October 28, 1938 in Maysville, OK, the younger of two children of Cecil and Edna (Owenby) Owens. Buddy attended Wayne Schools, graduating with the Class of 1957.
He married Dianne Tiner and moved in a home on the family homestead. Buddy worked for the John Roberts Ring Factory for several years, and later a painter for the University of Oklahoma. He retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Retirement was not an option for Buddy, as he stayed busy on the homestead, farming and raising cattle. On September 13, 2008, he married longtime friend Doris (Waters) Sanders. Buddy loved fishing, and every chance he could, he snuck off to Port Lavaca for weeks of fishing. He was a man of great faith and a member of the Wayne Church of Christ.
He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His parents,Cecil and Edna Owens; Sister and Brother-in-law, Sequita and Lloyd Wright and 1st wife, Dianne Owens.
Buddy is survived by: His wife, Doris Owens of the home; Nieces and Nephews, Beverly and Russ Brown of Norman, Cynthia and Glenn Davis of Austin, TX; Great Nieces & Nephews, Jeff, Ashley, Jaleigh, Aubriana, Emory, Beckett, Leigh, Landon, Brooklyn, Bryson, Kyle, Olivia, Bryant, Andree and Andrew; 3 step children, Sherry Williams of Hale Center, TX, Gary and Kellie Sanders of Sanger, TX and Terry and Carka Sanders of Lubbock, TX; 4 step grandchildren, Leah, Natasha, Zach and Jaycee and A host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Church of Christ in Wayne. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.
