Mary Olive Mauldin age 78 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 after an extended illness.
Mary was born April 25, 1939 in Hydro, Oklahoma. She was one of five children born to Herman John Spor and Emma Olive (Sodders) Spor. Mary grew up and attended school in Hydro, OK. While living in Norman she met and later married the love of her life, George Melvin Mauldin Sr. They were married on May 4, 1956 and celebrated 56 years of marriage before he passed away on Jan. 22, 2013. Mary worked for Noble Public Schools in the cafeteria for many years. Her greatest joy, however, was being a stay at home wife and mother. She enjoyed trips to Lake Texoma, camping and fishing with family and friends. She liked flowers and tending to her vegetable garden, and feeding birds and various yard critters. Mary was a longtime and faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell, where she served in the Alter Society and serving at funeral dinners. Mary was a woman of great faith and a blessing to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, George Mauldin Sr.; Her parents, Herman and Emma Spor and A brother, Raymond Spor.
Mary leaves behind: Her children, George M. Mauldin Jr. of Norman and Linda Mauldin of Lexington; Brothers, Leroy Spor and wife Emma Lou of Norman, Carl Spor and wife Brenda of Lexington; Sister, Margie Dennis of Noble; Brother-in-law, Leroy Mauldin of Gainesville, TX; Sister-in-law, Alice Lessly and husband Bob of Norman; Grandson, Joshua Mauldin; Step grand and great grandchildren, Kennedy Shahan, Layton and Landon Mayhue and Aiden Mae Isaac, And a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Mass services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. Interment will be at the LexingtonThis site may be freely linked, but not duplicated in any way without consent.
