Rev. Victor Maine, age 85 of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017.

Victor Yancy Maine was born November 13, 1931 in Phillip, SD , 1 of 15 children born to Omar Leroy Maine and Eva May (Rood) Maine. He was raised primarily in Idaho where he attended school. Victor joined the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Korean War. While in the service, Victor met a young lady named Alice Brown. They were married on January 16, 1953 in Grandview, WA and together they raised 8 children; 5 sons, Samuel, Terrell, Ray, Norman and Mark and 3 daughters, Pam, Carol and Melinda. After returning from the service, Victor felt called by the Lord to enter into the Ministry. Victor Pastored churches in Washington State and California, and later completed his schooling at the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado. He eventually accepted a Church Assignment in Talihina, OK, and in July of 1984, Victor moved his family settled in Lexington. In addition to serving many local congregations, Victor worked as a carpenter and a home builder. Several years later, after Alice passed away, Victor met Lottie Appleman at the Purcell Senior Citizens Center. They were married at the center on January 3, 2009. Victor loved the Lord and served him faithfully. He had an incredible voice and loved worship, and you would never find him happier than when tending to his garden. He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend.

He was preceded in death by: His 1st wife, Alice Maine; Grandson, Jason Means; Great granddaughter, McKenzie Means; Parents, Omar and Eva Maine; 4 brothers, Harold, Bill, Harry and David; Sister, Alma Morrett and Infant siblings, Lorane and Franklin.

Victor leaves behind: His wife, Lottie Appleman Maine of the home; 5 sons, Sam Maine and wife Cindy of Silverton, CO, Butch Maine and wife Melissa of Canyon City, CO, Ray Maine and wife Rhonda of Lexington, OK Gene Maine and wife Belinda of El Reno, OK and Mark Maine and wife Shannon of Lexington, OK 3 daughters, Pam Latimore and husband Jerry of Moore, OK Carol Means and husband Ronnie of Wister, OK and Melinda Cargill and husband Larry of Ada, OK; 6 brothers, Allan Maine and wife Glenna of Coos Bay, OR, Jim Maine and wife Deanie of Napa, ID, Pete Maine of Nyssa, OR, Bob Maine and wife Veda of Payett, ID, Emmett Maine and wife Jewell of Parma, ID and Richard Maine and wife Sandra of Fessenden, ND; One sister, Anita Cooper and husband Ed of Benton City, WA; 22 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren, and A host of other family and friends.
