Ila Jean Lee age 87 of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, Aug 19, 2015 at the Lexington Nursing Home.

She was born August 24, 1927 in Norman, OK. Jean was the 3rd child of four children born to Homer Anthony Mays and Essie Lavada (Wall) Mays. Jean grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1945. Two years later she met and married the love of her life, Fred James Lee. They were married on Dec. 25, 1947 in Pauls Valley, OK. Together Jean and Fred had four children, Anita, Kathy, Jim and Jeanne. For 17 years they lived in the OKC area before moving to Lexington in 1964. Jean was a faithful Christian and active in church. While living in OKC she was the church pianist at Christ Tabernacle for many years. After moving to Lexington she was an active member of the Lexington First Baptist Church. Jean loved playing the piano and singing old gospel hymns. She enjoyed sewing was a fabulous seamstress. When her children were younger she made most of their clothes. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, camping and fishing. She was an avid reader and she loved family get-togethers. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Homer and Essie Mays; Infant daughter, Anita Jean Lee; Two great grandsons, Jabari and Kenyon Brown; Infant brother, Kenneth Mays; Two sisters, Evelyn Mays and Loretta Toby; Two son-in-laws, Joe Sherman and Stan Patterson; Special nephew, Dewayne Clifton;

She is survived by: Husband, Fred Lee of the home; Three children, Kathy Patterson of Lexington, Jim Lee and wife Deena of Atoka, Jeanne Inman and husband Tom of Lindsay; A sister-in-law, Joyce Clifton of Wayne; Six grandchildren, Cindy Sherman Sendelbach and husband Joe of Norman, Teresa Sherman Brown and husband Kenyatta of Purcell, Heather Lee and husband Brian Landers of Duncan, Virgina Lee Elam and husband Mike of Alma, Arkansas, Jeffery Inman and wife Tosha of McLoud, Joshua Inman and wife Jordan of Mead, OK; Eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, Aug, 21, 2015 at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, OK. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
