Marie Juanita (Jennings) Jeffries, age 98 of Noble, entered Heaven’s gates Friday, January 11, 2019.

The only daughter of Jake and Alice Jennings, Marie was born November 14, 1920 in the Helcel Community near Lexington. She attended Lexington Schools, graduating in 1939. On August 6th of that same year, she married her true love and life partner, Raphael Franklin “Ray” Jeffries. Marie attended the University of Oklahoma for a time and they later lived in Pennsylvania while Ray was in the Army. It was here that their daughter, Brenda was born. Not too long after, they returned to Oklahoma and settled in Lexington. Marie worked as a substitute teacher for Lexington schools. She loved all the kids and looked forward to her time there. Her greatest joy however was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Marie was a longtime and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington, and served the church many years by working with children. She was an excellent seamstress and a master at making clothes for her daughter and granddaughter. In 2010, Marie moved to Noble to be closer to Brenda and family. For the last several years, she has attended the First Baptist Church in Noble. She was a woman of strong faith and a great example for others. She will be dearly missed!
