Sharon Hunt, age 68 of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, February 8, 2020. Sharon was born May 24, 1951 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, 1 of 10 children. She was raised in Steven’s Town, WI and attended Melrose-Mindoro High School, and later Western Technical College.

In the early 1980’s, Sharon followed her adopted father, Thomas Burns, to Oklahoma. One day, while attending Church at the House of Prayer, she met a young man named Paul Hunt. They quickly became friends and this would lead to something a little more serious, so they followed their hearts and were married, March 17, 1984 in Purcell. They first made their home in Purcell, later settling near Slaughterville, where together they raised daughter, Sondra. Sharon worked in the cafeteria for Lexington Public Schools. She served faculty and students in a variety of roles for more than 16 years.

When she wasn’t working, Sharon enjoyed tending to her chickens and she loved all kinds of dogs. She enjoyed watching old westerns, and particularly Gunsmoke and The Rifleman. Sharon was a woman of great faith and a faithful member of the Friendly Mission Pentecostal Church of God in Lexington. She was a loving and faithful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her adopted parents, Thomas Burns and Betty Burns and Siblings, Richard Burns and Shawn Campbell.

Sharon is survived by: Her husband Paul, of the home; Daughter, Sondra McCracken of Purcell; 3 grandchildren, Bladen, Kevin and Rebekah; Brothers, William Hunter, Collin Campbell, Patrick Campbell and Lance Campbell; Sisters, Cecilia Lerhke, Lillie Zoeller and Ann Campbell and A host of other family and friends.
