Funeral Services for Bertha Helm , 95, of Lexington are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.

Bertha Perkins Helm was born on October 20, 1917 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Albert Everett Perkins and Ada Belle (Jones) Perkins and passed away Wednesday January 23, 2013 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.

She graduated from the 8th grade at Centrahoma, Oklahoma. She later raised one son Albert Everett Perkins and in 1943 moved to Oklahoma City. While living in  OKC, she started worked in a laundry and dry cleaners business before going to work for her brother in his laundry business.

She married Raymond Helm on October 22, 1949. Raymond had a son, Raymond Bryan Helm. Her family later moved to Lexington, OK.  in 1954 they started their own Laundry business where she worked until she retired in 1976. Raymond died in 1980 and she lived  by herself until 2007, when she moved in with her son, Everett. Bertha was an avid sports fan. She loved watching college and professional sports on TV especially O. U. sports. She also was an Elvis fan, enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and working on crossword puzzles. While her grandchildren and great grandchildren were growing up she enjoyed being their babysitter.

Surviving her are her Son: Albert Everett Perkins of Lexington; 3 Grandchildren: Sheri Snider Davis and husband Terry of Purcell, Barbara Helm of Cumming, GA Darrell Helm of Cumming, GA ; 4 great grandchildren: Chad Hudson and wife Audrey Chase Hudson and wife Nikki Adika Snider and Austin Carr ; 5 great-great grandchildren: Haelee, Gabriel, Addison, Colin and Cadyn ; 4 nieces and nephews: Lucy Kalivoda and husband Ernie Brower of OKC Kelly Farley of OKC Larry Tompkins and wife Ann of OKC Howard Tompkins and wife Shirley of OKC .

Preceding her  in death were her Parents: Albert and Ada Perkins ; Husband: Raymond Helm;  2 sisters: Alice Tompkins and Gertie McCabe;  3 brothers: Elmer, Loran and Walter Farley; Stepson and his wife: Bryan and Bea Helm .
