Harold Harryman, age 84 of Norman, passed away, Friday, January 30, 2015. Harold Ray Harryman was born March 22, 1930 in Lexington, OK, the only child of Clyde Clarence Harryman and Bessie (Green) Harryman. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1948. As a boy, Harold raised prized hogs and hunted quail. He enjoyed fishing and playing basketball.
He served his country proudly during the Korean War and was also served in Germany rebuilding and restoring their communications. This time led to a 35 ½ year career with AT&T as chief switchman. Harry was married to LaVona Beth Craig for more than 50 years. He loved the Lord and served faithfully, reading his Bible and praying every day. It brought him great joy when someone accepted Jesus as their Savior. He also served as Deacon and Sunday School Director at First Baptist Church in Norman. Harold Ray Harryman was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved to greet everyone with a “hello neighbor”! He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His wife, LaVona Harryman and His parents, Clyde and Bessie Harryman;Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.
