Mr. Coley was born to John and Etta (Shellenbarger) Coley on the 7th day of June , 1925 at Tulsa, OK. He departed this life on the 16th
day of February, 2009 at the home that he built himself and resided at until his death.
Mr. Coley moved with his family to Arkansas and attended school at Jasper, Arkansas. He entered the US Navy on the 31st of August, 1943. He served his country as a Seaman First Class on the Vessels SS Simon Reed, the SS Thomas Jefferson, the Jefferson
and the USS Briareus. He received the Victory medal, the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon and the Phillippine Liberation Ribbon. He received an Honorable Discharge on the 11th day of March, 1946.
On the 14th day of April, 1950 he and Delores Queen were united in marriage at Tulsa, OK. He was employed at Marble and Tile in Tulsa as a tile setter. Later he was employed with Evan's furniture for (30) years. He managed several of their stores,
most noted the Big Red Furniture Store in Norman, OK. He also ran the furniture repair shop for Evan's until his retirement. He and Delores moved from their Norman home to their acreage southeast of Noble in 1975, where he built their home.
He was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and the Free Will Baptist Churches that they attended. He was a member of the Skyridge Free Will Baptist Church while also serving as a Deacon. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Coley and son David Coley.
He is survived by his wife Delores, of the home; sons Johnny Coley and his wife Charlott of Mustang, OK and Richard Coley and his wife Sherry of Norman; daughter in law Cheryl Coley of Norman; Grandchildren; Sherri and husband Asif, Jonathan, Joshua,
Dustin and Robert; nieces Mary Paul and husband Presse and Vivki Lott and husband Doug; nephew James Scott; great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
