At the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs W.H. Woodard of the Swartz neighborhood, on Friday evening, November 22, 1918, at about nine o'clock in the evening, Mr. WIlliam Napoleon Woodard died of tuberculosis of the spine.
Mr. Woodard was sick for 8 months and seven days having taken sick on the 10th day of last March. All was done for him that loving hearts and hands could do. He lacked four days of being 27 years of age. He expressed a hope in Christ only few days before he become sick.
He leaves a father and mother, four brothers and four sisters and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his death. All of his siters and three bothers were at this bedside when death came. One brother, Ed Woodard of Nashville, Tennessee was unable to get here.
The funeral services were held at the Union Grove church at eleven o;clock Sunday morning, November 24th, with Mr Shultz officiating and interment was made in fhe Ford Cemetery.
