Sherman, Mary Jane, 98 of Norman passed away Monday, September 27, 2010.
Jane was born
in Falls Church, Virginia on July 3, 1912 and grew up in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
She spent many years in San Francisco. She worked for Bechtel Engineering
Company. Jane married Henry A. Sherman of Tulsa in 1956. They had a home in
Tulsa on South Columbia and also enjoyed a home in Sanibel, Florida.
Jane was excellent at needlepoint and made beautiful rugs, cushions, and
kneelers for her home and at St. John's church.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruby Marks and her husband,
Henry A. Sherman.
She is survived by her brother, Dick Marks and wife Beverley
of Norman; two nieces, Virginia Hines of California and Mary Jane Miner and
husband John of Norman; one great niece and four great nephews; six great great
nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters, Betty Sherman of California Ann Sherman
Berry of New York; stepson, William Sherman of Washington, DC; and several stepgrandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. John's
Episcopal Church.
