Joshua Stephen Dover age 34 of Shawnee, formerly of Lexington, passed way unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 2, 2015.
Josh was born on February 17, 1981 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was the 2nd child of four children born to Clifford Allen Dover and Gwenneth Lorene Keeler. Josh grew up in the country, east of Lexington. He attended the Lexington Schools and graduated with the class of 2000. While in high school Josh played football, baseball and wrestled. He also worked during high school, hauling hay and working at the McCurdy Mill in Purcell. Not long after high school, Josh went to work in the oil field. He first started out as a roughneck working for Goober Drilling in Stillwater, OK. Because of his hard work ethic and experience, Josh became a Tool Pusher in 2007 for Horizon Energy Services in Stillwater. Throughout his life Josh loved being in the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and most recently, spending time at the lake. He was also an avid O. U. fan. Most of all, Josh loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by: Grandparents, Steve and Bessie Dover;
He is survived by: Parents, Clifford and Lorene Dover of Lexington; Grandfather, W. J. Keeler Jr. and wife Mildred of Lexington, Grandmother, Gwenneth Carr of Lexington; Two brothers, Shannan Dover and wife Shannon of Noble, Darrell Dover of Lexington, One sister, Shawna Dover and husband Aaron White of Pauls Valley; Eight nieces and nephews, many cousins, several aunts and uncles and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Corbett Baptist Church, east of Lexington.
Burial will be at the Corbett Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
