William Dwight Rogers of Wagoner, OK was called home Saturday, January 31, 2015¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬. Born August 20, 1932 in Lexington, OK to the late Homer and Myrtle Rogers. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bill was loved by all that knew him. After graduating from Lexington High School in 1950, he joined the Air Force and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict at Kimpo AFB. In 1952, he married Joan Egner with whom he had his two daughters. Later in life he married Norma Jo Michael of Hartford, AR. They established a home on Lake Fort Gibson in Wagoner, OK where he enjoyed fishing, writing, and painting. He was extremely talented. He loved to paint Native Americans and nature such as ocean scenes, mountains, and waterfalls. He was a barber by trade but his passion was taking his travel trailer and setting it up where he did woodworking of all kinds. He made wooden yard ornaments and he and Norma loved to decorate their yard for the holidays. He also painted numerous signs for the church and Tulakogee Church Camp.

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Norma Rogers and Two sisters, Juanita Peltier and Mary Carr, both of Lexington.

He is survived by: His two daughters, Melanie and husband Gary of Ligonier, PA and Constance Dela Cruz and husband Pete of Kahuku, Hawaii; Three step-sons, Dale Haynes and wife Marcia of Lexington, OK; Ernie Haynes of Moore, OK; and David Michael and wife Dana of Greenwood, AR; Three step-daughters, Raye Morgan and husband John of Hartford, AR; Kaye Smith and husband Jim of Cabot, AR; and Robin Fulton and husband Lyle of Broken Arrow, OK; Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He leaves a host of loving family, friends, and church family.

To celebrate Bill’s life, a memorial service will be held at Twin Oaks Baptist church on Wednesday February 4th at 10 a.m. A grave side service will be held at Chappel Hill Cemetery, Lexington, OK on Thursday February 5th at 2 p.m.
