Theodore "Ted” J. Bugher, age 81 of Lexington, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014. Ted was born July 24, 1933 in Noble, OK, the 3rd of 7 children born to Theodore Franklin “Teed” Bugher and Emma Videll (Brown) Bugher. He was raised in the Lexington and Noble area. Ted joined the Army Reserves and answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army. Ted married young; at age 17 he wed his best friend and soul mate, Miss Jo Mayberry, on July 12, 1952 in Norman. They made their home in the Norman and Noble area for a few years, eventually settling east of Lexington. Together they raised two children, son, Brent and daughter, Debbie. Ted worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for both Cleveland and Pottawatomi County’s, and free lanced some work as well. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and hunting, and he never missed an opportunity to sit down and watch an old John Wayne western. Ted’s passion was his music. He had a beautiful voice and played the guitar. He cherished Jo and his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Rose Hill Pentecostal Church of God. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, “Teed” and Videll Bugher; A brother, Roy Bugher and 2 sisters, Betty Cox and Doris Bugher.
Ted leaves behind: His loving wife, Jo, of the home; His son, Brent Bugher and wife Stacy of Lexington; His daughter, Debbie Akerman and husband Benny of Lexington; 2 brothers, Lewis Bugher of Noble and Delaney Bugher and wife Bobbie of Arkansas; His sister, Jean Dupuis of Noble; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Bugher and Heather of Noble, Amber Clingman and Cody of Lindsay, Anthony Lamirand and Ashley of Lexington, Dusten Bugher of Lexington and Lacy Vaughn and Chris of Purcell; 8 great grandchildren, Krystin, Caden, Westyn, Addilyn, Paxton, Harley, Nakyia and Gracie, and A host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Rose Hill Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will follow at the Chappel Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
