Slawson, age 73, of Norman passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in her home with
her cherished family by her side. She was born September 18, 1939 in Wewoka,
Oklahoma to A.L. and Inez Lucas.
Pennie is survived by her husband, David Slawson; one daughter, Diana Quinton
and her husband Stan of Norman; one son, Michael Witt and his wife Rahonda of
Kemp, Texas; three grandsons, Jackie, Grant, and Noah Quinton of Norman; two
granddaughters, Meagan Richard and April Ramsey; her sister, Bonnie Wilkerson
and husband, Don of Oklahoma City; three nephews, Kenneth and Jay Wright of
Kemp, Texas and Quentin Wilkerson of Oklahoma City; and three nieces, Donna
Stewart and Gaye Wilkerson of Oklahoma City and LesLee Lay of Waxahachie, Texas.
Pennie is preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Faye Patterson; her
brother-in-law, Pat Patterson of Kemp, Texas; her grandparents, Roy and Bertha
Tarpley of Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Pennie loved gardening. Her yard looked like a flower garden and people would
stop on the street to admire her work. Pennie also loved to make quilts and to
read when the weather would not allow her to be outside in her garden.
Arrangements for Pennie and her family were placed in the care of the Vice
family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Blackburn Cemetery, Franklin Road and 84th Avenue Northeast in Norman.
