Deborah Lee “Debbie” Scheulen, 61, of Norman, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 in Norman. The daughter of John and Iva Dee (Womack) Ellington, she was born May 25, 1951 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Debbie married Billy Ray Scheulen on May 3, 1988, in Denton, Texas. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and attended Grace Place Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.Debbie enjoyed fishing in her spare time, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kaylan Scheulen; a son-in-law, Edward Penner; and a nephew, Jackie Ellington.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 25 years, Billy Scheulen of Norman; one son, Frankie Cossey of Norman; four daughters, Christina Penner of Purcell, Cynthia Groehler and husband, Kelly, of Tecumseh, Sheila Scheulen of McLoud, and Tina Scheulen of Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Ellington and wife, Ginger, of Blanchard, Jerry Ellington and wife, Johna, of Newcastle, and Joey Ellington and wife, Marcy, of Blanchard; one sister, Vanessa Graham and husband, Johnny, of Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013 at Blackburn Cemetery in Norman. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
