Longtime Boise City resident, Marie Farris, age 87, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
Claudia Marie Addington was born June 12, 1931 in Sterling, OK, the 2nd of 6 children born to James Marion Addington and Viola Pansy (Adkins) Addington. As a young girl, she spent time in Chickasha and Konowa wherever her father could find work.
Marie married her best friend and life partner; a young serviceman named Judson Travis "Rass" Farris, on January 28, 1950 in Clayton, NM. They made their home in Boise City where together they raised 4 children; sons, James "Travis", Roy and Barney and a daughter, Delpha.
Marie worked in the cafeteria for the school in Boise City. Marie was a woman of great faith and faithful member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Boise City. She was a member of the Red Hats and stayed active in her community. Marie served in many capacities. She participated in the women's meetings and was always willing to help with dinners. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and particularly crocheting, quilting and sewing. Throughout the years, Marie shared many of her gifts with family and friends. In 2009, she moved to Purcell to be closer to her daughter and became a member of the Landmark Church in Purcell. Marie was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and a good friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Judson Travis Farris; Two sons, James Travis Farris and Roy Lee Farris; Grandson, Christopher Travis Farris; Great grandson, Hestin Farris; 1 sister, Stella Peoples and 3 brothers,�Douglas, Kenneth and Neil Addington.
Marie is survived by: Her daughter, Delpha Burleson and husband Tony of Purcell; Son, Barney Farris and wife Debby of La Junta, CO; Daughter-in-law, Dee Anne Farris of Boise City; Sister, Linda Arnold of Purcell; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 28th, at Landmark Church, Purcell, OK. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
