Funeral services for Angie Lavonne (Moyer) Thurman will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hugo Agriplex in Hugo, OK, with Brent Franks & Tim Harless officiating & burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Angie passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016, in Plano, TX, at the age of 44.

Angie Lavonne (Moyer) Thurman was born October 10, 1971, in Stroud, OK, the daughter of Rodney Dewayne & Pamela Jean (Antwine) Moyer. She moved to Soper, OK at a young age and lived in this area most of her life. Angie was a member of the Church of Christ in Antlers, OK. Angie graduated from Soper High School in 1989, and she married Terry Thurman on June 28, 1991, in Soper, OK. She loved him with all of her heart, as well as their two girls and the rest of their family; she loved spending time with them all. Angie graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1993, & she later received her Masters of Education from SOSU in 1998. She held her Case Management (CMII) certification & was also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Angie was the Special Education Director for the Hugo School System. She was very active in the Angel Tree Program & taught an after school program for autistic students. Angie held a deep love for teaching special needs children, & her absence will be felt by the many students & families with whom she worked. She was also a bargain shopper, loved to plan and go on vacations, and enjoyed planting flowers and working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin & Audrey Moyer, her grandfather, Floyd Antwine, her uncle, Jimmy Antwine & her cousin, Haley Antwine.

Angie is survived by her husband, Terry Thurman of the home; daughters, Keely Thurman & Nakie Thurman, both of the home; her parents, Rodney & Pam Moyer of Soper, OK; grandmother, Lillie Jean Antwine of Soper, OK; father & mother-in law, Elmer & Ubon Thurman of Hugo, OK; brother, Bryan Moyer & wife, Jennifer, of Soper, OK; sister, Jennifer Dawn Griffin & Gary Gene Hill of Antlers, OK; brother-in-law, Jerry Thurman & wife, Rebecca, of Hugo, OK; sister-in-law, Linda Eskue & husband, Scotty, of Rattan, OK; seven nieces & nephews, Sebastian Thurman, Kolbi Eskue, Emilee Moyer, Avery Moyer, Jake Griffin, Jett Griffin & Aiden Thurman; one great-niece, Grace Thurman, as well as many other family & friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
