Funeral services for Charles H. Cox will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 am at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor Doug McClure officiating, with private family burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Charles passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 71.
Charles H. Cox was born May 28, 1943 in Kingsburg, CA, to William Olen and Mary Lenora (Alexander) Cox. He married Betty Lavonne Walker on June 10, 1963 in Antlers, OK. He worked as an X-Ray Technician and spend 22 ½ years working at the Hugo Medical Clinic. Charles was a member of the Hugo Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church of Hugo, OK, and he enjoyed camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Robin Cox; one brother, William Cox; and one sister, Mary Davis.
Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Cox, of the home; two sons: Layton Cox & wife, Amy, of Hugo, OK, and Brad Cox & wife, Cherie, of Lindale, TX; one daughter: Angie Evans & husband, Wade, of Powderly, TX; one sister, Jeanie Kerner & husband, Bud, of Greenville, TX; nine grandchildren, Olen Cox, Brayden Cox, Grayson Cox, Laney Cox, Jacob Cox, Lindsey Evans, Justin Evans, Bryce Evans, and Adara Chambers; two great-grandchildren, Takoda & Brendyn Chambers; as well as many, many friends in this community.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
