Funeral services for Doyle Hunter will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Hugo, OK with Rev. Keithen Brown officiating and burial at the Springs Chapel Cemetery. Doyle passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, in Dallas, TX, surrounded by family at the age of 77.

Doyle Hunter was born December 15, 1937, in Idabel, OK the son of Charles “Buck” Hunter and Pauline Ruth (Rogers) Hunter. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1957, and moved to Dallas to work at Dallas Power and Light. When he was raised in Hugo, he attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years. Doyle worked as a lineman for 25 years and then moved up into Accounting for six years, and then moved up in to Administration working in the Procurement Division for four years before retiring in 1992. After retirement, he moved back to Hugo and enjoyed country living and cattle ranching. Doyle was a loving father and lived his life for his kids, he always said it’s “all for ya’ll” when talking to his family. Although he really enjoyed being with family, he would always be available to help just about anyone in need at any time. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles Edward Hunter Jr, John Douglas Hunter, Jimmie Allen Hunter, and Billy Gene Hunter; one sister, Patsy Ruth Thompson; one granddaughter, Ashlee Gayle Morris; one great-grandson, Jackson Edgar Northcutt.

Doyle is survived by his children, Susan Morris and husband Kern, of Wolfe City, TX, Charles Hunter and wife Joyce, of Dallas, TX, and Dena Hogue and husband Kevin, of Wolfe City, TX; brothers, David Hunter and wife Dena of Hugo, OK, Jerry Hunter and wife Sharon, of Hugo, OK, Howard Hunter and wife, Susan, of Dallas, TX; and sister, Judy Kay Campbell of Hugo, OK; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at First Assembly of God Church from 10:30-11:30 am on Friday, December 11, 2015, before the services. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
