Funeral services for Rubye "Pinkie" Lois Higginbotham will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Kyle Cummings officiating and burial following in the Springs Chapel Cemetery. Rubye passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 86.

Rubye "Pinkie" Lois Higginbotham was born April 27, 1929 in Maud, Texas, to James Lemuel and Eva "Gertrude" (Mathes) Cowley. She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rubye worked at Baptist Village and Hugo Manor Nursing Homes for many years as a nurse. She ran the Cowley Rat Poison Business for 62 years until it closed. Rubye loved tole and oil painting, hunting for arrowheads, and country crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn Higginbotham; brothers, Ray Cowley, Mack Cowley, and Troy Cowley; daughter, Peggy Bratcher; grandson, Mickey Meredith.

Rubye is survived by children, Jim Meredith and wife, Diane of Hugo, OK., Judy Ketchum and husband, Howard of Hugo, OK, John Higginbotham and wife, Linda of Hugo, OK and Trudie Futrell of Hugo, OK; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
