Funeral services for Fred Young will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with George Peterson officiating and burial following in the Spencerville Cemetery. Fred passed away Friday, December 16, 2011, in Sawyer, Oklahoma, at the age of 83.

Fred Earl Young was born July 25, 1928, in Sawyer, Oklahoma, the son of Bert Harden and Lillie Bell (Pitts) Young. He lived in this area all of his life and married Faye Earthman on June 4, 1949, in DeQueen, AR they had been married 62 years. He drove a school bus for 29 year for the Ft. Towson School District. He was a farmer and a rancher. He liked to deer hunt and extremely liked turkey hunting. Most important Fred loved his family and his animals, Bo, a Boston Terrier and Tom the cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Curtis and Frank Young.

Fred is survived by his wife, Faye Young of the home; three children, Ray Dean Young and wife Cheryl of Hugo, OK, Shirley Fay Cody and husband Clay of Hugo, OK, David Earl Young and wife Pat of Sawyer, OK; four granddaughters, Christine White and husband Kyle of Hugo, OK, Bridget Bloodworth and husband Jason of Turtle Lake, ND, Wendy Knight and husband Scott of Hugo, OK, Torie Englehardt and husband Chad of Fletcher, OK; five great-granddaughters, Haley Upton, Ryen Knight, Emery, Ambry, and Mazie Englehardt; two great-grandsons, Cody and Casen Knight; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 18, 2011, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
