Funeral services for Loretta Brown will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor David Goff officiating and burial following in the Spencerville Cemetery. Loretta passed from this life on Friday, August 2, 2013, in Hugo, OK at the age of 75.
Loretta Brown was born on January 18, 1938, in Page, OK, the daughter of Claude and Eula (Henry) Fuller. She married Billy Jack Brown on October 15, 1956, in Strathmore, CA, and then moved to this area where she has lived for the past 64 years. Loretta graduated from the second nursing class at Paris Junior College and then began her nursing career in Hugo where she was licensed as both a LPN and LVN. Loretta has worked as a nurse for the past 63 years. She worked at Choctaw Memorial Hospital for 36 years, and then worked for 9 years at Dr. Jose L. Pabelona MD office, and then served for the past 18 years at Baptist Village Nursing Home. Loretta loved spending time with her family and going fishing, which she did even on the way to work and home from nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Billy Jack Brown; one son Charles H. Brown; two sisters, Martha Fuller and Janie Daniel.
Loretta is survived by three daughters, Rose Rhoads of Rattan, OK, Ruby Nored and husband Rickey of Hugo, OK, Rita Miller and husband Odie of Sawyer, OK; one son, Billy D. and Melinda Franklin of Snellville, GA; daughter-in-law Velva of Everest, KS; eighteen grandchildren and spouses, Misty & Thomas Vorpagel, Odie Miller, Ricky & Alisha Nored, Elizabeth & Buck Phelan, Glenda & Bill Caylor, Jerri Lee, Loretta & Jim Barton, Henry & Joy Brown, Mary, Amanda & Noah Franklin; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchild; one brother James Fuller of Hugo, OK; four sisters, Darla Teal of Dallas, OR, Wanda McGlothin of Hugo, OK, Della Latham and husband Wayne of Merced, CA, and Stacy Lefler and husband Ivan of Box Elder, SC.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
