Funeral services for Edith Merle (Wise) Ferguson will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bruner officiating and burial following in the Soper Cemetery.

Edith passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010, in Hugo, OK at the age of 93. Edith Ferguson was born August 12, 1917, in Soper, OK, the daughter of J.W. and Mattie (Newman) Wise. She married Scott C. Ferguson on May 6, 1933. She was a member of the Soper Methodist Church where she served the Lord for 79 years. Edith was a homemaker, dedicated mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Scott; two brothers, Ballard Wise and Morris Wise; one granddaughter, Jerri Ferguson Beardsley; one grandson, Greg Ferguson.

Edith is survived by one brother, Sonny Wise of Ft. Worth, TX; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott C. and Mary Ferguson of Sulphur Springs, TX; Jon and Jeanine Ferguson of Hugo, OK, and Jack and Pat Ferguson of Soper, OK; fifteen grandchildren, Donna & Carl Steffey, Sonja and Steve Carter, Tracy Steyer, Jessie and Matt Mueller, Luke McNeil, Jana & Tom Blasutta, Jon Ferguson II, Kim & Greg Robertson, Kelly & Argus Lindsey, Kathy & Darrell Kerr, Kristi Ferguson, Mattie Ferguson, Jackson Ferguson, Jennifer & Bryan Moyer, Vali & Todd Bishop; twenty-four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren on the way.

The family will receive friends at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
