Leta Jeanette (Story) Lee

Funeral services for Jeanette Lee will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Young and Rev. Steve Buchanan officiating with burial following in the Shoat Springs Cemetery.

Jeanette died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Commerce, TX at the age of 87. Leta Jeanette Lee was born December, 20, 1922 in Cass County Texas, the daughter of Melvin Monroe and Ella Ellen (Lawrence) Story. She had lived in this area most of her life and had moved to Texas in 2002 to be near family. She married Wilbor Lee who preceded her in death in 2000. She had served on the Choctaw County Home Extension, and Fair Board, judging fairs for many years. She loved jigsaw puzzles, bingo, dominoes and cooking. She was a real homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Wilbor Lee; one daughter: Leta Morgan; two sons: Steve Lee and Willie Lee; two brothers and one sister.

Jeanette is survived by five sons: Giles Lee of Rockwell, TX, Bud Lee and wife, Lila of Mesquite, TX, Jimmy Lee and wife , Paulette of Hugo, OK, Paul Lee and wife, Mary Kay of New Mexico and Larry Lee and wife Bobbie of Hugo, OK; Dennis Lee and wife Anita of Grant, OK; four daughters: Jo Ann Klotz and husband, Miron of Lone Oak, TX, Mary Tacquard of Amarillo, TX, Bettye Wiley and husband, Jim of Paris, TX, Arlene Hicks and husband, Chuck of Colbert, OK; one sister: Mary Elizabeth Lubinko of Nevada; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the prater-Lampton-mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
